Surgery #2

Monday 5/4/09: Surgery is in two weeks, 10 hours, and 44 minutes…not that I’m counting or anything :) I think I’m so ready to be done with this and can’t wait to get one step closer to being cancer free!!! I can say that day will probably be the happiest day of live, besides my wedding day that is. Bring it on!!!! I am ready to done with all this and get back to my life.
Monday 5/11/09: Let’s see…7 days and 13 hours until surgery. I am a little excited if you can’t tell. I have my pre-op tomorrow morning and then my wound appt next Monday and then I’m ready to go. I’ll try to write as soon as I’m up to it, I promise.
Saturday 5/23/09: Okay, so suregery went very well. Here is the general information from surgery. The liver surgeon went in with scopes to look over everything and took out the right lobe(~60% )and my gall bladder. After he was completed, the colorectal suregeon went in with a scope to check everything out. He found another 30 or so poylps while in there. Everything was sent in to the pathologist to make sure nothing needed special attention, He then removed the remainder of the colon adn gave my an ileisopy with my small intestine, in the same spot that the coloscopy was put…which leaves me with ine less incision on my stomach. The good news is that everything started workinc correctly by Thursday morning, which means that my cathidore removed and I was ablt to start emptying my bad on my own. I can actually walk by myself now too…not walker. That is a grat relieve. I also was able to get completely diconnected to everything, which made gettingup and going much easier. The Good News: My liver sureogon came int ehis morning and asked if i wanted to go home, which was a good lift of spirits. We’ll be checking how I do with everything off and if I can contorl the pain good enough…I’ll be able to head home and start the recovery process. YEAH!!!!!! I’ll let everyone know when I’m heading home. Thanks for all your support and thought during this time…it does help, trust me.

Surgery went fantastic. All detectable diseased tissue is out. We could not have asked for more. Both portions of the surgery were a success. Everything we wanted to happen, did. We will be coming home today (Sat) or tomorrow (Sun).
